What We Collect, Why We Need It, and How We Use It

When submitting a URL, it will be made publicly accessible to any other users that access your generated URL. We do not log any information about who accesses your URL, nor do we log any information about who generates a URL.

Almost all of the data we collect and store is the URL you enter, and the shortened URL we generate for you, which are deleted after they expire. Additionally, we collect and store aggregated and anonymized numerical data of URL generations for unique domains, e.g. the 'apple' in 'www.apple.com/products.' We store this data for as long as is necessary to prevent abuse and improving our domain blacklists.

Additionally we temporarily access and use but do not log the following to enforce rate limiting, prevent botnets, and prevent abuse:

  • IP addresses
  • Request information

While we do not discourage the use of VPNs, please note that to enforce what's aforementioned, using VPNs or obfuscating requests may interfere with your ability to use the site.

We do not COLLECT, USE, OR STORE any other data including but not limited to:

  • PII such as name, gender, birthdate, age, and email
  • Cookies
  • Cache
  • Device information
  • Browser information
  • Referrer information
  • Location information

If you use our products outside of this site such as extensions, we may store your preferences that always stay on device such as UI settings and themes.

We do not use any third-party analytics nor load any third-party scripts.

Security and Data Loss

We take numerous precautions when it comes to securing our systems and your data such as restricting access to our systems, encrypting data in transit and at rest, and more. However, we cannot guarantee that your data will never be lost either due to link expiration or a security breach. As we look into more robust solutions, we will continue to update this section.

Your Rights

No personally identifiable information is bound to your data. Each time you access the site, you are considered a new user. As such, we do not have any data to provide you, nor do we have any data to delete.

In accordance with the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, and erase your data along with the right to restrict and object to the processing of your data. Since we do not collect any personally identifiable information, we do not have any data that can be assigned ownership. Any pertaining data you may have added will be automatically erased after the link's expiry period elapses.
